Sustainability Practices at Vaikobi
PEOPLE, PLANET + PRODUCT

Materials

The materials we use have the biggest impact on our footprint. We're actively shifting toward recycled, bio-based and certified materials — including ECONYL®, rPET, and sugarcane-based EVA — and moving away from conventional polyester completely by 2028.

FAQs
Are sustainable materials as durable and high performing as traditional ones?

In most cases, yes. We only switch to sustainable materials when they meet our performance standards - we're not willing to trade one for the other. Where trade-offs exist, we're transparent about them.

Do Vaikobi's waterproof or weatherproof products contain harmful chemicals such as PFAS (perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances)?

Some of our membranes and water-repellent finishes currently contain PFAS. We're actively working to phase these out and trialling bio-based alternatives across our range.

Where are your products made?

All our suppliers meet the BSCI standard for workplace conditions and ethical practices. We visit our factories regularly and have a strict policy covering forced labour, human trafficking, and supply chain compliance.
